LET’S PAVE THE WAY – IT’S UP TO US!
It’s about the need for a legal pathway for people who are residing in Bulgaria without a permit (so-called undocumented migrants) to regularize their status. In all types and models in the many countries that have adopted such laws, there are criteria that applicants must meet. This legal pathway is separate from the procedure for protection or acquiring the right of residence through marriage or other similar grounds. These people are trapped in a closed circle – they cannot be removed from Bulgaria, for legal, humanitarian or practical reasons – there is no legal procedure to obtain documents – they live illegally in Bulgaria excluded from all systems of social order.
The Legal Aid Centre Foundation – Voice in Bulgaria is part of the civic association “Equal BG“. The Alliance brings together 30 civil society organizations that believe in democratic values and work in the field of human rights protection, vulnerable groups, sustainable development, advocacy, etc.

IT IS UP TO US is the first campaign of the Citizens’ Alliance “Equal BG” within which each organization develops its own campaign in line with its activities.
