DETAINED was created in 2015 by Center for Legal Aid – Voice in Bulgaria. with the purpose of collecting and publishing information and analyses on the topics of immigration detention and alternatives to detention, deportations of migrants, pushbacks and border violence, rights of undocumented migrants, and related, in the South-Eastern Europe and the Black Sea regions.
DETAINED aims to serve as a regional hub for information and expertise sharing in view of supporting advocacy efforts and policy-making in the area of migration and asylum at the regional and European levels. Our audiences include migrant rights advocates and human rights defenders; lawyers and legal aid providers; international organizations; EU institutions, courts and legislature; human rights monitoring bodies; students and researches.
The creation and ongoing maintenance of DETAINED has been supported by grants provided by the European Programme for Integration and Migration (EPIM) of the Network of European Foundations (NEF) .
